Salvation is a winner!

The "Salvation" Dress

I am finally able to do the big reveal - here is "Salvation" in the photo shoot we did before I submitted the dress to the Creative Fibre selectors.  The woodland garden provided the perfect setting for the shoot.  I can also now release the video, previously only available to VIP guests who signed up for my blog and newsletter - check it out below

And "Salvation" turned out to be an award winner!  Taking out two awards this evening; the NZ Creative Fibre National Fashion Award for the Nightlife category and the NZ Creative Fibre National Fashion "The Creative Fibre Award" - the supreme award for the evening!  I was so excited to see both of my entries on the catwalk - such a buzz.  By the end of the evening I was pretty overwhelmed.  Not bad for my NZ Creative Fibre debut.

Oh - did I mention that my other entry also won an award - the Creative Fibre National Fashion Award for the Contemporary Fashion category.  I will post some photos of the Briny top and East Coast Sandstone skirt soon - don't forget to sign up for my blog and newsletter so that you don't miss it :-)

I didn't get to say anything at the time - probably couldn't have managed to string too many words together anyway - but I would like to say a huge Thankyou to the NZ Creative Fibre Society. The competition was pretty tough - I was up against some extremely accomplished artists and artisans and I have received a huge amount of encouragement.  The Festival organisers deserve a massive thankyou for the vast amount of work that they have obviously put in.

I need to get some sleep - it's been a full-on sort of a day....
