Her Essence

NZ$450.00

Her Essence is part of the Created series which is an exploration of the complimentary nature of male and female.

When I made these pieces, I was thinking about the moment that a new life comes in to being. What will that person become? How much of that is determined at the very moment of conception and as cells begin to multiply?

The etherial fragility of the colour and form of this piece seem to be at odds with the strength that is required to nurture and bring forth new life.

This is a Fibre Art Print of an ephemeral fibre "painting".  The process used to create these Fibre Art Prints is not unlike that used to paint a conventional picture. Layers of colour are applied and then details carefully added. The difference being that my "paints" are wool and silk fibres and my hands are the brushes. Artworks are then captured and reproduced using the highest quality printing techniques and materials.
The depth of colour and dimension in these unique artworks makes them truly eye catching. The sheen of the silk fibres lends a three dimensional quality to each piece. The capture of this particular type of fibre art is unique to Caroline Burton, Fibre Artist.

The fibres in this piece were subsequently felted to create the artwork "Her Potential".  The two pieces bear an obvious resemblance but are very different in terms of their textural qualities and finish.

His Essence is an abstract fibre artwork depicting the essence or soul of a man - the part of him that can be vulnerable, that has many layers and complexities. Part of a series of works inspired by the complementary nature of the design of man and woman.

Gallery quality Giclée fine art print of original fibre art on 50 x 50 cm Lyve™ poly-cotton blend matte canvas with an acid-free, neutral pH coating.

This unique artwork is created using layers of hand dyed merino wool fibre and details of silk fibre.  It is then captured and reproduced using the highest quality printing techniques and materials.

The process used to create the artwork is not unlike that used to paint a conventional picture.  Layers of colour are applied and then details carefully added.  The difference being that my "paints" are wool and silk fibres and my hands are the brushes.  At first glance, this print looks like a watercolour.  Then, as you are drawn to look closer, the depth and shimmering colour become clearer and you find yourself soaking in every detail.

His Essence is a dramatic piece.  The depth and vibrance of the blues and yellows make it an eye catching addition to your home.

The capture of this type of fibre art is unique to Caroline Burton Fibre Artist.
